Today is the first day in Rome. We arrived in the city late yesterday. We stay in a lovely hotel with a beautiful view on the roof. We went up stairs to watch the sunrise in the morning and we experienced a magnificent view: half of the collosseum was in the sunlight and half was not, the two combined together and formed a remarkable composition. The view was worth memorising.

After breakfast, we went into the colloseum to explore the mystries of this ancient and cruel amusement park. The colloseum was built primarily for the usage of amusement by watching fighters fight other fighters or fighters against animals. The fates of the warriors are determined by how good they fought in the fight, if the warrior tried his best, he will be released, if not, he will be killed. This kind of entertainment was eventually abandoned since it was too cruel. The place then necame a famous historical site for the citizens. After it was abandoned, the colloseum eventually became a place for construction resources, many emperors used the stones from the colloseum to built their own memorials. These kind of activities made the colloseum became what it lokks like now. Although it is damaged, we can still vividly imagine how glamorous it will be when it was undamaged.

After the tour inside the colloseum, we went out side to the Arco di Constantino. It was an arc built to memorize the victory of emperor constantin. After that, we went to the so-called piazza di Roma which is famous for its buildings of the ancient time. The piazza finally lead us to the piazza di venice. In the piazza, there was a memorial for the first king that reunite Italy, the memorial was devastating and breathtakingly adorable.

After lunch, we went around one of the most famous sites, the fountain that could fulfill your wishes. I didn’t throw a coin because i don’t believe in such things. After a while, we reached the pantheon which is famous for its grave for the two kings and the famous painter Rapheal. The pantheon was primarily a temple for gods, now it was a grave for the great. At last, we went to the spanish square which became famous because of the movie: Roman Holiday. The place is famous for its stairs and fountain.

It is such a wonderful day, we watched the sunrise at the colloseum and saw the sunset at the spanish square.
