The Yangtze keeps rolling in, endless.</p><p>Commanding thousands of troops in his early youth,</p><p>He occupies the Southeast, battles continuous.</p><p>Who else can rival him, amid China's heroes?</p><p>Merely Cao Cao and Liu Bei can do like this.</p><p>May our land be revived as Sun Quan did, our offsprings!</p><p> </p> <p>石灰吟 Ode to Lime </p><p>明 于謙（1398-1457）</p><p>千錘萬鑿出深山，烈火焚燒若等閑。</p><p>粉骨碎身渾不怕，要留清白在人間。 </p><p>Hammed and chiselled, lime comes out of the deep mountain,</p><p>Burned in a blazing fire, it holds light everything.</p><p>It dreads nothing, even if threatened with destruction,</p><p>Merely leaving purity and nobility behind.</p> <p>書法作者儲國天為儲國熙四弟，四七年泰州生人，現(xiàn)居揚州?？釔蹠?，諸體備修，尤專擅書法小楷。遍臨歷代小楷名帖，上追晉唐風(fēng)韻，漸成鮮明之個性風(fēng)格。曾閉關(guān)十五載，抄寫四書五經(jīng)及古代文學(xué)經(jīng)典、詩詞文賦數(shù)百卷。年逾古稀，仍筆耕不綴。</p><p> 譯 者 儲 國 熙 簡 介</p><p>1943年9月19日出生于江蘇泰州，中共黨員，江蘇省中學(xué)英語特級教師，泰州市海陵區(qū)教育局英語教研員。</p><p>曾4次在江蘇省中學(xué)外語年會上發(fā)表中英論文，9次在《中國日報》發(fā)表英語文章。編寫了由北京教育出版社出版、供全省使用的三冊高中《英語寫作》教材，主編了供全市教師三項基本功進(jìn)修的《英語教程》。</p><p>為北京大學(xué)葛路教授11萬8千字的力作《中國歷代名畫品評》作過英譯，翻譯過300余首詩詞和20多萬字的涉外資料。在國家級外語核心刊物《外國語》發(fā)表過三篇古詩英譯作品。</p><p>近年出版了《儲國熙中英文詩集》500首，應(yīng)邀收藏于母校江蘇省泰州中學(xué)校史館。</p><p>座右銘：人生在世，總應(yīng)為社會和他人奉獻(xiàn)點什么。既然選擇了峻峰，便應(yīng)向著頂點，奮力攀登；不畏崎嶇，風(fēng)雨兼程。</p><p>Motto: In life, one should contribute something to the society and others.
