It deals with a young Latina girl, Esperanza Cordero, growing up in a Chicago ghetto full of Chicanos and Puerto Ricans. Esperanza is </p><p class="ql-block">determined to "say goodbye" to her </p><p class="ql-block">impoverished Latino neighborhood.
