When I first came to my son’s home, I saw so many things behind the door that the house looked very dirty. I asked him what those were. He pointed to two big boxes and told me they were the materials for two bedside tables bought from IKEA, but he was so busy that he hadn’t assembled them.

I thought for a minute—maybe I could fix them. So I said to my son, “If I assemble them for you, could you give me $100 for this job?”

He agreed and said, “If you can’t fix them completely by yourself, then you should pay me $20. Do you agree?”

Of course I agreed.

One day after my son worked on, I pulled two big boxes to the dinner room, they were so heavier that made me tired . First I opened one box to put out all materials on the floor, I saw so many materials felling very difficult. at the first I spread all materials to the same size material together. Then I read the books how to assemble.

I have to admit, IKEA’s guidebook is so well designed that it makes assembly much easier.

Every piece has its number, every step has picture to guide you how to assemble and what is the flow step.

Everything is difficult at the beginning, but it becomes easier once you start.

Every nightstand required 26 steps to assemble. It took me two hours to put the first one together. The second one was much easier. By the time my son got home from work, I had assembled both nightstands by myself. I was very proud, and I asked my son for my hundred-dollar pay.
